More Spring Flowers

More Spring Flowers

My little garden has suddenly burst into bloom, with bluebells (mostly the Spanish kind that had been planted before we moved in) They are attractive and do have a perfume, but not as vibrant in colour as our lovely English variety.

These are the English bluebells. I have also got some beautiful violets that have seeded themselves.

My Camellia has been stunning this year with lots of lovely blooms.

The clematis buds are getting fatter too, so the fence will soon be a glorious mass of pale pink. I can't wait!

Cat Path

Cat Path
He made it himself
Creeping through
The grass
And shrubs
Passed the poppies
He sprawls
Like a tiger
Beneath the
Stripy shade
King of his jungle.

In my Garden

Spring is on the Way
There are some lovely things happening in the garden just now. I had a little wander and really felt that Spring was on the way.

Best of all my lovely camellia

And something to look forward to later in the year.

But not these!

Signs of Spring

Signs of Spring
It was a glorious Spring-like day on Monday, although at this time of year the weather can change so quickly, switching from Winter to Spring and back every other day. Anyway, Monday was Spring! and I took some pictures of the early signs.

The fresh, bright green leaves of the hawthorn are usually the first leaves to appear. So bright and full of promise.

I believe these are the flowers of the Blackthorn. The flowers come out before the leaves and always remind me of snow.

There are lots of buds ready to pop!

This beautiful swan is one of a pair that are always on the lake. I love the lovely curve of his neck and the pattern made in the water by his movements. Just perfect!

Shadows

Shadows
Walking back from the hospital the other evening, I noticed the lovely shadowy leaf patterns on the pavement. I had to see if I could capture them. I made several attempts and this was the best one.

Earlier in the year when the sun was very low I took this photo of my shadow self!

                                                   What long legs I've got!

This is one of my favourite shadow photos.

And this is a small selection of my shadow family.

skies again

Skies Again
It's always a good idea to look up. The sky at this time of year can be amazing, sometimes reminding me of Mother-of -Pearl, with delicate pinks and blues.

Sometimes the sky can can be glowering down, threatening storm and rain.
.

Windy skies create feathery patterns in the clouds.

I was up early to catch this spectacular dawn! Lovely!

Snow

Snow Sprinkles
A week or so ago , we had a sprinkling of snow. I love the way changes the view. Ugly things get covered up and somehow it makes lovely things more beautiful. Unfortunately
it really was only a sprinkle, but I went into the garden to see what  I could see.

All the shrubs had a white coating, like icing sugar.

The berries looked delicious, a tasty snack for Blackbirds!

The hellebores don't seem to be bothered by the snow.

Best of all the first signs of Spring!
