Misty Mornings

I went for a walk this morning quite early to take some misty photos. These were taken in a near by park. The fog makes everything very mysterious even these  rocks which are man-made climbing rocks look ancient and rather sinister.

The trees looked wonderful, the nearest ones clear but then gradually fading away, melting into the landscape.

It's good to take time out sometimes and just gaze and capture the moment.

Autumn Comes

This little picture says it all I think. Rain on our new garden table outside our patio doors, reflecting the side of the house and Hannah's basket ball net! I find reflections fascinating and have some more reflection  pictures and poems on my poetry blog.

The apples are heavy on the branches, pulling them down. They're not ripe yet though. But the Escalonia berries and juicy sticky honeysuckle berries are quite ready for the birds.

The Michaelmas daisies are starting to come out, the slugs and snails nearly finished them off, but we battled through and have the beginnings of a nice display.

And the Sedum and Abelia are adding a bit more colour too.

It's such a lovely shrub, bringing the delicate pink of Spring into an Autumn garden.

The colour of Summer

I love geraniums! They flower all summer and the snails don't like them.

There are so many different blooms.

I also like the wild flowers that creep in unexpectedly. These poppies are beautiful!

Valarium is great for areas of poor soil. They thrive and bloom but you have to watch that they don't spread every where, because their seeds are blown about by the wind.

Garden Visitor

What a surprise to see this little visitor when I was weeding. I expect all the rain has brought him into this part of the garden. He's resting near my little bog garden, so it's very moist.

Roses are Amazing!

I can almost smell the wonderful perfume from these lovely blooms!

This climbing rose has been spectacular this year.

Tiger in the garden!

In the summer, when it is warm, Tiger is a feature of the garden. He loves to join us when we have tea breaks. He sprawls at our feet luxuriating in the wonderful warmth of the sun.

He loves the smell of the herbs in my little herb bed and sometimes curls up in it!

His latest perch was  our tea break table! He wanted to be the centre of attention.

Maytime! Maytime!

This is one of my favourite Maytime sights, cow-parsley frothing around beneath the trees and lining the pathways and roads.

You know that Spring is really under way and Summer is just around the corner. The Hawthorn trees are heavy with closely packed blossom  and they seem to weigh the branches down!

In the shady woodlands, the bluebells cover the ground and fill the air with their delicate scent. There are a few wood anemones flowering too.

Everything seems to be bursting into colour. What a wonderful time of year!
